Hematology Analyzer also popularly known as CBC Analyzer is an automated biomedical instrument used in laboratories to count and analyse the solid components of blood, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It counts the no of cells and provides morphological information in the form of indices which are useful for screening, diagnosis, and monitoring of many disease conditions.
3 Part Hematology analyzer provides analysis of WBC in 3 Part, i.e. Lymphocyte, Mix Population and Granulocyte. Along with that it provides detailed information about RBC & Platelets. In case of 5 Part it enumerates all 5 Populations of WBC and provide detailed information for RBC & Platelets.
Beaconic 5 Part + is 5 Part differential Hematology Analyser that provides enumeration of all 5 types of WBC along with information about RBC & Platelets. In addition, Beaconic 5 Part + also provides enumeration for Reticulocyte.
Beaconic 5 Part + Provide results for 28 CBC Parameters including Retic_Abs Count, Retic % and IRF%, with 2 Histograms for RBC & PLT and 2 scattergrams. Alongside it also provide screening result for 6 Parameters as Research Use Only (RUO) parameters.
Parameter Results under Reportable Parameter are the one which can be directly reported as results from the 5 PDA, whereas RUO parameters are the one which are just screening results that cannot be reported directly.
Beaconic 5 Part + can provide results for 60 Sample in an Hour for CBC + 5 PDA mode and approximately 45 Sample in an hour in Retic Mode.

Beaconic 5 part + uses Multi Angle Scatter Separation (MASS) technology using Sheath Liquid and Flow Cytometry Technology that provides accuracy & Precision of counting each type of WBC. Moreover, it uses optical & Impedance counting (WIC/WOC) method that ensures precise counting of Basophil cells. For RBC & Platelet it uses unique Impedance counting principle. For Reticulocyte it uses NMB Dye and Double Angle scattering to count Retic Points, from which it generates report for Retic_Abs count, Retic % and IRF.
There are 4 main reagents used for routine counting in Beaconic 5 Part +. Diluent, Lyse Detergent and Sheath Reagent. For Retic Mode separate Prefilled Retic Tubes are available. Additionally, as part of routine daily maintenance Probe cleaner is to be used every day while closing the instrument.
Use of sheath flow Reagents for WBC 5 Part which helps in keeping the WBC Population in its Approximate original state which can generate better Scattering signals when these cells pass through Laser Beam to ensure precise enumeration of each cell population. Moreover, it is chemical dye free technology that makes system more eco-friendly in use.
Retic Tubes supplied separately are prefilled tubes containing New Methylene Blue (NMB) dye. This dye will stain the Reticulocyte present in Sample and when this stained sample passes through Laser Bim, it creates different scatter signals for Retic which are plotted on 2D scatter grams for identification and counting.
Whole Blood and capillary Blood can be used for testing on Beaconic 5 Part +. For capillary Blood sample, it can be run using pre-diluted mode available in Beaconic 5 Part +.
For Retic mode same EDTA sample is used. The sample is to be mixed as per quantity specified with Retic Dye Tube, mixed well by gentle inversion 7 to 8 times, then incubated at 37° C for 15 mins and then run in Retic mode of the Instrument.
Abnormal count results are displayed on the screen and it also provide detailed alphabetical flags for such results which makes pre-diagnosis simpler and easier by the operator.
Yes Beaconic 5 Part + has built-in QC program with 4 QC Module options like, L-J, X-R, X-B as well as X.
Yes Beaconic 5 Part + can be connected to LIS/HIS using RS 232 connector.
For routine maintenance it has software driven facility, in which just by double clicking the function in maintenance window, instrument will automatically perform the maintenance. It has ZAP Flush function as well which will help in removing stubbornly blocked aperture due to clogs in sample.
